3D/ Architecture & Sculpture (11, 12) Grade 10 with Professor approval.
Students will develop advanced skills in the use of various media such as paperboard, fomecore-board, wood, plaster, stone, clay, and found objects.
Students will create original, three-dimensional artworks using additive and subtractive methods; modeling, cutting, assemblage, and (as become available casting methods).
Students will work using traditional media, and build 3D dynamic sculpture and "modeled" architecture through the following themes: observation, model-making, installation, monument making, and will compose and build a final project based upon a student-selected personal or cultural concept.
Students will analyze and critique artworks, discuss aesthetic issues, and understand how art is related to history and culture.
** Students will be required to keep an research journal, that traces their exploration, study, process and plans for the term of the class.
